On Thursday 29 February, eight of us studying A Level Geography tested our knowledge of the world, while enjoying socialising with fellow geography enthusiasts, at a quiz at Tonbridge School.

In three teams made up of students from both schools, we tackled five rounds of questions, which challenged our understanding of global ecosystems, geopolitical trends, and the intricacies of graphs. Questions included naming all three tectonic plates, all the US states that begin and end with the same letter, and what the literal meaning of tsunami is.

While the quiz was undoubtedly tricky and rather competitive, the experience was enriching and fun for all involved as each team tackled every question with determination and passion. Partway through the quiz, we were provided with a lovely meal, which gave us the opportunity to discuss our studies and prepare for the remaining questions to come.  The evening allowed us to broaden our geographical perspectives, test our differing strengths and enhance our knowledge.
