22 March 2024
Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport
As we reach the end of the spring term, we’ve had an excellent few weeks of netball and hockey, with final fixtures for our Upper Sixth leavers as well as House competitions.
Our first Friday Night Lights saw our 1st XI hockey take on St Teresa’s, Effingham (main photo). Woldingham was delighted to take a win in the last competition for this year’s 1st XI, captained by Rosie J. Woldingham’s 1st VII netballers (pictured below) took an impressive win against a tough team from Gordon’s School in their final competitive match. Best wishes to all our Upper Sixth hockey and netball squad – we hope they will continue playing at club level and at university.
In other netball news, well done to the U12A VII on winning the District tournament and to the B team on finishing third in a pool of A teams. The U12A and B teams also look set to win their respective District leagues - we are awaiting the final standings.
House Sport has dominated games lessons in the last fortnight, with Barat, Digby, Duchesne and Stuart competing at dance, badminton, netball and hockey. With the final results in, I can confirm that the winners are:
House Dance – Digby
House Badminton – Digby
House Hockey – Barat
House Netball – Duchesne

The annual staff vs Upper Sixth matches on Thursday 20 March were superb contests. After some excellent play, the A team match finished in an exciting 11-11 draw, whilst the Upper Sixth B team emerged victorious.
As we look ahead to next term, we are excited to see students competing in cricket, athletics and tennis (details of trials have been sent to students). We are also extremely delighted to host our annual Sports Dinner and Awards evening in May, with guest speaker weightlifter Emily Campbell, winner of a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
