Fr Gerry Devlin, Chaplain
On Sunday 19 May, the Feast of Pentecost, Amara in Year 10, Phoebe in Year 8, Amelia in Year 7 and Deputy Head Girl Feranmi received their First Holy Communion in the school chapel.
The students were joined by family and friends in the chapel, as well as others watching our livestream around the world. It was a very happy and joyful liturgy and the students took part, giving the scripture readings and bidding prayers.
After Mass, everyone enjoyed a reception in the Stephens Room, where the students cut the wonderful ‘communion cake’, which they shared with all who were gathered and with other students in our school community. We were reminded at Mass that God is love and we are called to love one another. As St Mother Teresa once remarked, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”
Please keep the students in your thoughts and prayers as they continue their journey in faith.
