Our annual Sports Day on Wednesday 26 June was blessed with the summer weather we’ve been craving all term. The sun shone, our athletes performed brilliantly, and the whole school, supported by family and friends, put on a great display of sport, teamwork and passion. Our new Lower Sixth House Captains showed excellent leadership skills and the wonderful encouragement for all athletes, across all events, was a joy to see.
As well as competing as members of Barat, Digby, Duchesne or Stuart for the House Athletics Cup, outstanding individual performances saw athletes from across the year groups in contention for the Victrix Ludorum, a prize awarded to the highest scoring athlete, using scores from English Schools Athletics relative to age. There was a tie at the top this year, with the Victrix Ludorum awarded jointly to Year 9s Maia W (Stuart) and Nicole E (Barat). Daisy L in Year 8 (Digby) amassed the second-highest points total, followed by Amy M in Year 10 (Duchesne). It was fitting that all four Houses were represented by our top athletes, each of whom contributed greatly to her team’s points total. Congratulations to Stuart House on winning the House Athletics Cup for the third year in a row.
