Fun and reflection for Duchesne at annual House Feast and Mass

On Wednesday 2 October, along with Head of House Ms Dellarosa Ratti, we welcomed student and staff members of Duchesne to our annual House Mass and Feast for an evening of reflection and fun, in equal measure.

The evening began with Mass, where students gave readings, everyone sang hymns, and Fr Gerry, Woldingham’s Chaplain, talked about the legacy of House patron St Rose Philippine Duchesne, who founded the first Sacred Heart school outside of Europe, and how we can honour her values.

Mass was followed by a delicious dinner in Marden dining room, which we decorated in keeping with the evening’s glamorous theme, “Casino Royale”. Between courses, we engaged the House in some friendly competition with a quiz, where each table participated as a team. There was also the opportunity for students to submit “love-letters” about their friends to express their appreciation, admiration, or gratitude, which were read aloud at the end of the dinner and met with lots of giggles and “awws”.

The evening was a huge success, both in honouring our beloved St Rose Philippine Duchesne, and in spending an enjoyable evening with old friends and new ones, bringing us even closer together as a House.
