Maisie-Grace and Phoebe, Digby House Captains
On Wednesday 5 February, Digby House enjoyed a magical, Disney-themed feast, that created an unforgettable and fun evening.
Our evening began with Mass led by Father Gerry, where we celebrated our House patron, Mabel Digby. Phoebe gave the first reading, followed by the psalm from Sasha and Maisie-Grace said the bidding prayers. This was the perfect start to our amazing evening.
A host of Disney characters, from Elsa and Jasmine all the way to the group of aliens from Toy Story, headed into a transformed Marden dining room, where each table represented a different Disney film, complete with twinkling fairy lights, magical lanterns and a sprinkle of magic. Our personal favourites were Beauty and the Beast and the tangled table.
A selection of dips with carrots, cucumber and spring rolls set the stage for delicious chicken burgers served with crispy fries. The meal went down delightfully, accompanied by refreshing glasses of lemonade and topped off with a delicious chocolate brownie and strawberry ice cream for dessert. The evening was filled with laughter as we put everyone’s Disney knowledge to the test with a quiz. The result is yet to be announced but the winning table is in for a treat with a special prize.
At the end of the evening we announced our favourite costumes of the night. The competition was tough, as everyone was fabulously dressed, but we finally managed to pick our winners, who received a chocolate bar and a certificate. Winners included Miss Williams, Mr Rebbetts’ whole tutor group and Diana in Year 7.
We loved spending the evening together as Digby House and hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.
