Mrs Janet Travis, Head of Higher Education and Careers
On Tuesday 18 March, alumnae from career backgrounds as diverse as international law, global management consultancy, engineering, and media provided our Lower Sixth with information and advice designed to help them flourish in their future careers.
Our guests were warmly welcomed by Evie (main photo), who invited each of them to give an overview of her career to date, as well as how she navigated her way there from Woldingham. After this, ably assisted by our roaming mic technicians Lisa and Ellie, the Lower Sixth put plenty of questions to our panellists, being rewarded with very insightful answers. Waishe thanked our guests for generously giving their time: Francesca Linsley (class of 2014), solicitor at international commercial law firm Addleshaw Goddard; Molly Abraham (class of 2014) from global management consulting firm Accenture; Christina Lanisek (class of 1990), Head of Supportability at MBDA, a leading company in the defence industry; and Alex Darbyshire (class of 1986), who has had a fascinating career in the arts as a producer and director and is currently working as a business strategist.
Our students were very animated after the event and their thoughts are definitely turning towards post A-Level plans. If alumnae or parents would like to similarly inspire our students at a future careers event please email me at travisj@woldinghamschool.co.uk or our Alumnae and Development Officer, Mrs Alison Alder, at aldera@woldinghamschool.co.uk.
