Art Auction showcases the wonderful work of students, staff and alumnae, while raising funds for our bursary programme

Miss Siobhan Campbell, Head of Art

This year’s Woldingham Art Auction on Thursday 20 March was a resounding success, raising money for our bursary programme with a wonderful showcase of the talent and dedication of our art scholars and other gifted students from Year 7 to Upper Sixth, as well as featuring works kindly donated by alumnae, staff and parents.

We were honoured to welcome back to Woldingham alumna Anne Howeson, a practising artist and former tutor at the Royal College of Art. Anne delivered a heartwarming speech reflecting on her time at Woldingham and expressing her admiration for the department’s current work, describing it as ‘magical and ambitious’.

Throughout the evening, parents, staff and guests from the wider school community were treated to an inspiring display of artistic achievement, highlighting the creativity and individuality nurtured within our department. Our Art Ribbon, Kira, talked eloquently about her journey in art since she joined the school in Year 9, sharing that Woldingham has encouraged her to express her individuality, pushed her to reach her full potential, and set her on the path to study at the University of the Arts London for her foundation year.

The evening was a great success, with 32 pieces of artwork sold and more than £3,000 raised for our bursary programme. A huge thank you to all our students for their continued commitment to art and to our art community for making this event such a special occasion. We look forward to presenting new works and raising more funds next year.
