The start of half term saw 35 girls from Year 11 and the Sixth Form descend on Berlin for the biannual History trip. The focus of the trip was Nazi Germany and Berlin during the Cold War and over the four days we saw a wide variety of historical sites and museums, including the Berlin Wall, Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, The Jewish Museum, the DDR Museum and Checkpoint Charlie. We were navigated around the city by our excellent guides, Ian and Sean, who had many stories to share about life under the Nazis and during the Cold War. Whilst some complained about the amount of walking (we hit 25,000 steps one day!) it was an amazing trip and we all returned home with a much greater understanding of life in Germany during the turbulent years of the 20th Century.
