On Saturday 13th January a group of Sixth Form and Year 10 students helped with the ‘Christmas Lunch’ which is celebrated in January for senior parishioners in the Sacred Heart Parish, Caterham. The students took it in turns to serve at table, work in the kitchen with the chef to plate up the meals and to do the washing up. They also organised the raffle and ensured that everyone who attended had a very enjoyable day.
Parish organiser, Mrs Jo Waiton, has written to thank the students for “all their hard work, as the lunch would not have been successful without their help and joyful serving on the day”. I am most grateful to the students for giving up their free time to help others. Their hard work was greatly appreciated by all who attended this happy parish celebration.
