Last Thursday, Years 7 and 8 took part in a forensic workshop to investigate a crime, based on a true event that once happened in Australia. First we learned about what the crime was – a murder. Just like in real life, little was known about what had happened and it was up to us to figure it out. Around the room there were different activities that helped us discover what had happened to the girl. These included looking at the fingerprints on items found at the scene, the phone location details, DNA tests, and also looking at insects and organs to find out the time of death. By the end of the session everyone in the class had worked out what happened to the girl. We all found it really interesting.
