Culture Show 2018

21 March 2018

We were impressed and delighted by the wide variety of contributions to our Culture Show. The girls were asked to show us something related to their culture in either spoken word, acting, singing, dancing or mini histories.

Seventeen diverse acts took to the stage and showcased the culture of 12 different nationalities, highlighting the richness of our community here at Woldingham. Highlights included a piano piece by Maya to a Japanese animated film; a French play; Georgina, Kayleigh, Jada and Emmanuella doing a dance representing Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana; Coco singing in Chinese, dressed in beautiful traditional dress, and an adaptation of a Chinese folk song played on piano by Tracy.

The evening ended with a fantastic Jewish song, performed without musical accompaniment by Rachel, which brought the house down!

Thanks go to all our performers and, very importantly, to Suzanne and Natasha, who organised this fabulous evening. As well as selecting the acts, organising rehearsals and publicising the event, they somehow found time to teach the other Ribbons a dance as well!
