Woldingham’s spring term sport has been affected by the adverse weather in recent weeks, with a lot of the Saturday block netball and hockey fixtures being cancelled. This is a real shame as we were looking forward to continuing our positive progression from last term.
Despite this, the U12A Netball team have shown fantastic skill and persistence, becoming U12 District Champions in early March. And Alice Simpson and Zoe Wisniewski have this week been selected for U14 Surrey County Netball Academy trials.
Last week's annual Interhouse Hockey and Netball competitions were tightly contested; it was great to see so many girls from all Year groups representing their House on pitch and court. Stuart House won both competitions and was awarded the Interhouse Hockey and Netball Cups at this morning's assembly, during which the Interhouse Swimming Cup was also awarded, to Digby House.
We have also seen individual success from both Olivia and Sophie Foster, who continue to make their mark on U16 and U21 Great Britain skiing. At the English Alpine Championships held in Bormio, Italy, Olivia won gold in the U18 slalom, and silver and bronze in the two U18 super-Gs and Sophie took gold in the U16 giant slalom, and a gold and silver in the two U16 super-Gs.
