Last week we were delighted to host the Study Overseas Fair, organised by The Student World which acts as an umbrella for numerous overseas institutions who wish to let British students know about opportunities for study abroad. They visit schools up and down the country and are very much in demand. The exhibitors represented 15 institutions, including the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Toronto, the University of Bologna and Geneva Business School.
All students from Year 10 upwards were invited along and were inspired by the wealth of opportunities available to them in the wider world, as well as the free pens! On a serious note, in an ever-changing global jobs market, employers are increasingly looking for more outward-looking candidates who are prepared to do something 'outside the box'. Studying abroad demonstrates this potential perfectly and definitely helps to get applications into employers’ consideration set. This approach is well suited to our students, who we endeavour to prepare for the world ahead of them and not just their exam certificates.
