The school Chapel was full on Tuesday, as students from Years 7 and 8 gathered together to celebrate their House Mass, the focus of which was ‘growing together as individuals in our Marden Community’.
The readings which we listened to at the Mass challenged us for the academic year: to appreciate the friends who are loyal and support us each and every day (Ecclesiasticus 6:15-17); to be united in our love for one another, considering the needs of those around us (Philippians 2:1-4); to extend our friendship groups so that everyone feels included and valued (Lk 14:12-14).
The students left with a sense of purpose and togetherness as we all have an important role to play in building up the Marden community. As Rose Philippine Duchesne reminds us, ‘Preach by the example of your lives rather than by words. Example is the best sermon’.
