Woldingham girls made us all very proud once again as Year 7s from Digby and Barat helped host ‘Carols at Woldingham’ as part of their Thrive program. We welcomed elderly guests and staff from three local residential homes to a morning of Christmas songs. To get things started we were treated to a joyful rendition of ‘Let it Snow’ from Year 10s, Alice, Katie and Jemima, who all take additional singing lessons in school. This was very well received as a much-loved song by audience, many of whom joined in enthusiastically.
The Year 7 girls were brilliant, singing carols and handing out refreshments. However, what was most impressive was their confidence, friendliness and maturity in chatting and interacting with all our guests.
The homes all passed on their thanks for a truly lovely morning and commented on what a credit the girls were to the school. A special mention must go to Director of Music, John Hargreaves, who provided a wonderfully interactive accompaniment to the singing.
