Sixth Form Government & Politics students were honoured with a visit from Parliamentary researcher, Caroline Heath-Taylor, who talked about her experience of working for an MP and three Members of the House of Lords, and also spoke passionately about her research into social justice for prisoners’ children and how she has helped scrutinise legislation.
Caroline also led an insightful discussion on topics related to our A Level studies, as well as on major issues such as Brexit, and we put our Political knowledge to the test, with the reward of exclusive House of Commons chocolate bars for correctly answering Caroline’s questions.
Following her speech, Caroline challenged us to submit a write-up about a social change we wish to make and the means through which it could be achieved; our time with her was most definitely an inspiration for this interesting project.
