21 March 2019
From whirling dances and sensational singers to drama on the piano, our International Evening was full of colour, vibrancy and enthusiasm. We were entertained by performances from Mexican, French and Spanish singers, Russian, Hungarian and Spanish dancers, a Chinese pianist, and a dance troupe featuring girls from Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and China. A tremendous well done to all performers.
During the interval we enjoyed snacks sold in aid of Binti, a charity which works in India, Africa, USA and the UK to give girls access to sanitary products and to educate them about menstruation, as well as helping to remove the stigmas and taboos surrounding it.
In the second part we were swept up in some marvellous dance workshops run by the girls. The three, very hard to pick from, choices were African dance with Ria, Jane, Og, Nicole, Naomi and Renee, Bollywood Zumba with Khushi and Angel or Salsa with Yulia. Huge thanks to all these workshop leaders who delivered carefully planned, energetic and fun experiences.
Special thanks must go to our Deputy Head girl Morayo and the Community Ribbons, Claire, Khushi, Natalia and Annabel, who organised and ran the whole evening so successfully.
