26 March 2019
Our annual WSHA Business Networking event took place on Thursday 14 March at The Grosvenor Hotel, London. Drinks and delicious canapés were followed by a very interesting presentation from The Return Hub, who specialise in placing candidates in work after a career break. We then held a round table discussion on the subject of ‘Women and the Workplace’.
This event is always a great opportunity for alumnae to meet, catch up and make business connections. A wide variety of careers were represented, including an architect, journalist, editor, picture researcher, event and travel organiser, solicitor, bursar, wedding planner, caterer, fundraiser and Zumba teacher!
Our speakers from The Return Hub, alumna Katherine Newnham (2014) and founder Dominie Moss, gave a fascinating presentation on how get a job after finishing university, setting up a business and how to get back on the career ladder after a break. This led to discussions about the challenges women face at work, the pay gap, working from home, flexibility of employers and much more.
Thank you to everyone who attended this fun and interesting evening.
