Year 7 and Year 9 students who take part in the weekly collaborative musical theatre class with the Orpheus Centre had the opportunity to see The Lion King in the West End with our Orpheus friends. The students are working on a medley of songs from the show in their weekly lessons together and the wonderful thing is that it was our Woldingham girls and the Orpheus students who suggested the trip - the staff had no input at all!
We had fantastic seats in the Royal Circle, looking straight onto the centre of the stage, and what a stunning performance it was. The moral of the tale really is about the circle of life, as the song tells us, and we were all captivated by the puppetry, costumes, singing and music. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for the girls, Fr Gerry and myself, spent with some very special friends.
