Sixth Former Talitha went to Buckingham Palace last week to receive her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award certificate. This was a great achievement for Talitha, finishing the award whilst still at school through commitment and perseverance.
Present at the ceremony were Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Prince Michael of Kent. Talitha was presented with her Award by two members of the Ice Maiden team, a group of female soldiers who skied across the whole of Antarctica in 61 days. Other guest presenters included TV presenter Charley Boorman, actress Tamzin Outhwaite, and television criminal barrister, ‘Judge’ Robert Rinder.
It was a special day, held in the gardens of the palace and blessed with beautiful weather throughout. Well done, Talitha!
