14 June 2019
On Wednesday 12 June, Woldingham hosted the Teaching & Learning Cluster Group Meeting 2019 for Academic / T&L Assistant and Deputy Heads across the GSA network of schools. These meetings are vital for the sharing of excellent practice, and a wonderful opportunity for academic leaders to share ideas and move forward any academic-related issues.
I gave the keynote presentation on developing a culture of learning across the school community for both girls and staff. Delegates were very interested to learn about Woldingham’s innovative approach to T&L, including our Looking for Learning questions, our Excited to Learn approach and what it means to ‘leave every lesson with more than you went in with’, as well as hearing how, at Woldingham, we put our teachers in learning situations to better understand the learning process of our girls.
Following the presentation Nicole Weatherston, Deputy Head Academic, and I led discussions ranging from the impacts of the introduction of new A Levels and GCSE courses to curriculum planning.
As a result of this meeting, Woldingham will be hosting, in partnership with the GSA, the first ‘Teach Meets’ for teachers of History of Art, Computing, Media Studies and Psychology - exciting times ahead for Teaching and Learning at Woldingham!
