12 November 2019
On Armistice Day, Monday 11 November, the school community gathered to remember the sacrifice of those who serve to defend our freedoms and way of life. Mr Taylor led a thoughtful assembly with a focus on those involved in the D-Day landings, 75 years ago last June, among them his own godfather. He also reminded us that, as well as remembering and learning, it is important to listen to others' views and to try to understand them in order to avoid conflict wherever possible. Head Girl Sarah and Deputy Head Girl Canaan laid the wreath, after which the two-minute silence was observed.
