Love was in the air at our fabulous Valentine’s Ball on Friday 14 February. Held at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London, the evening began with a sparkling reception, delicious canapes and the wonderful jazz sounds of Southern Beauty. Our 250 guests then took their seats in the stunning Grand Room and were welcomed by Chair of Governors Mr Robert Parkinson who thanked everyone for their support of the Woldingham School bursary programme.
Following the delicious dinner, Headmistress Mrs Alex Hutchinson introduced a heart-warming video that featured some recent Woldingham leavers who were bursary recipients thanking our generous donors for their support. This set the scene for the main event of the night as our charismatic auctioneer began the live auction, complete with hotly-contested lots and much hilarity. The live and silent auctions, combined with raffle ticket sales and several generous pledges, raised more than £30,000 towards our bursary programme, which was amazing. Revellers then took to the floor and danced the rest of the evening away.
