Mrs Ruth McKenna, Head of Maths
Participation in maths competitions has been going from strength to strength this year. The UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge results arrived last week and we were delighted at the aptitude and performance of our students. Girls in Years 9 to 11 gained a record 24 Bronze medals, 26 Silvers and an incredible 11 Golds!
Our Gold medal winners were: Lily and Agnes in Year 11; Emily, Rosanne, Christine, Wendy, Anna and Hebe in Year 10; Julia, Jiyu and Mashiro in Year 9. Our Year 10 and 11 gold medal winners are pictured here.
As well as the fantastic haul of medals, 15 students qualified for further stages of the competition – 12 for the Kangaroo and three for the Olympiad. We are incredibly proud of all their hard work. These achievements and great results show that all the problem-solving tasks sent their way are well worth the effort.
