20 August 2020
A huge well done to all our Year 11 students on receiving their GCSEs result today (20 August 2020).
Woldingham’s new Head Dr James Whitehead said: “It’s been a challenging year for all students, and particularly for those in Year 11 and the Upper Sixth whose GCSE and A Level exams were cancelled this summer, so I welcome the opportunity in my first week at Woldingham to congratulate them all on what they have achieved.
I am looking forward to welcoming Year 11 students into the Sixth Form in September. As they are now finalising their A Level choices, it looks like Mathematics and Chemistry will be the most popular subjects, closely followed by Economics and Religious Studies. It is clearly a very talented and highly motivated year group who will relish the opportunity for Sixth Form study at Woldingham”.
Head of Year 11 Mr Nunes added: “I am so proud of this phenomenal Year 11 group. Over the last two years, these girls have unceasingly developed and adapted their approach and application to their academic studies, with their final achieved GCSE results a testament of their tireless efforts and hard work. They have approached the recent few turbulent months with stoicism and purpose, and I am incredibly honoured to have had such a kind, caring and resilient set of students as a GCSE cohort. Congratulations and well done!”
