Excellent results in the Financial Studies Certificate course (CeFS) have brought Woldingham Sixth Formers, Ria, Ching, Rhiannon, Jessica, Emily R and Emily W the offer of a scholarship of £500 towards one of the London Institute of Banking & Finance degree programmes. This Level 3 qualification offered by The London Institute of Banking & Finance is available to Woldingham’s Sixth Form students to complement A Level courses. The CeFS also carries UCAS tariff points, which can contribute to university applications. Scholarships are awarded to the top performing 1% of all students nationally and to any students outside of this who have achieved an A* or A grade.
Both A* grade recipients Ria and Ching said that the course had been of benefit to their economics A Level studies and Ria also said that she chose it because she “wanted to be financially literate”. This key life skill makes the course a popular choice for Woldingham Sixth Formers studying a wide range of A Levels.
Woldingham’s Head of Economics & Business, Mr William Bohanna, commented, “A huge thank you to Ms Una Pickles who delivered this course at Woldingham and well done to all of the Financial Studies Certificate students - a simply super performance all round.”
