Our Year 11 students were spoiled for choice on Tuesday 13 October as they began the tricky task of deciding their A Levels for next year. Woldingham offers a wide range of 27 subjects at A Level so it’s just as well the students had so much information to help them make the right choices. After a talk from Head Dr Whitehead and Head of Sixth Form Mr Abbott, students browsed the subject fair in Main House, talking to teachers about the Sixth Form experience in their subjects. There was a palpable buzz of excitement in the air as the students considered the next step on their academic journey. After half term Year 11 students will be given the chance to be Sixth Formers for the day, choosing five taster lessons to attend, not to mention having the opportunity to use the much-coveted Sixth Form coffee bar.
Mr Abbott said: “For many students the Sixth Form at Woldingham will be the most exciting, challenging and rewarding period of their school career. It’s a delight to see our Year 11s so enthused about the exciting array of options for A Level study, as well as the myriad of opportunities to develop the skills they need to thrive. Sixth Form at Woldingham is not just about exams, but also preparing for personal and professional lives beyond Woldingham. I’m looking forward to sharing their journey with them.”
