The important process of considering which GCSE options to choose began in earnest for Year 9 students after school on Thursday 12 November. All Heads of Department were available at their subject ‘stand’ in various parts of the school to answer questions from the students. Due to the pandemic, parents were unable to join their daughters this year but were sent a short video from each Head of Department outlining the GCSE course for their subject.
Just before the students began quizzing Heads of Department, Deputy Head Academic Ms Nicole Weatherston gave them a talk, also live streamed to parents, outlining the choices available and reminding everyone that this is just the start of a process that doesn’t conclude until February. She reassured everyone that this information gathering opportunity is just one of many elements of support Woldingham offers parents and students and that there will be plenty more opportunities to discuss options and ensure all our students make the choices that are best for them.
