21 January 2021
Sarah Scholefield, Global CEO of Grayling Communications, spoke with passion and enthusiasm about careers in the communications sector and achieving success in the workplace at the first of our Woldingham Talks for the year on Tuesday 19 January.
In a working lunch-style event, Sarah – a Woldingham alumna and parent - used recent case studies, including Marcus Rashford’s poverty campaigning and Greggs’ vegan sausage roll launch, to make her talk relevant to the audience of Sixth Formers and staff. Sarah also explained how communications has evolved throughout her career and can offer fantastic opportunities for students with a wide variety of skill bases and interest areas.
There was a lively Q&A session at the end, where Sarah gave more insight into the recruitment process for the communications industry and talked about some of the many different career opportunities within the industry. Thank you to Sarah for such a fantastic opener to this term’s exciting programme of talks.
A recording of Sarah’s talk is available to students – it’s unmissable for any considering a future in communications.
Next week we are looking forward to another working lunch-style talk from CRO & Founder of Fundamental VR (and Woldingham parent and governor) Chris Scattergood and a Thinking Big talk on Homer from Upper Sixth Former Charlotte. Full details can be found here.
