Mrs Katie Hogben, Alumnae Development Officer
Although, for the second year in a row, it wasn’t possible to welcome alumnae and families in person to Woldingham, we did meet them virtually on Sunday 16 May, courtesy of Zoom. We were thrilled to be joined by many alumnae living abroad, including from Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and Menorca, and were tremendously impressed that one alumna in New Zealand took part in the middle of the night, local time! Participants also represented a wide variety of years, from the 1960s to very recent leavers.
The morning began, as usual, with Mass, led by Fr Gerry, with lovely singing from the Chapel Choir. After this, Dr Whitehead talked about life at Woldingham and the exciting development plans for the future before Chair of WSHA (Woldingham School Sacred Heart Association), Jenny Coote, updated everyone about upcoming WSHA activities. No Old Girls’ Day would be complete without lots of reminiscing, which this year took place in virtual breakout rooms, along with a ‘Woldingham Quiz’.
We are looking forward to a ‘live’ Old Girls’ Day at Woldingham next year, but we will incorporate some virtual elements too so that alumnae from around the world can join us once again.
