27 May 2021
At the whole school assembly on Thursday 27 May, Dr Whitehead thanked our outgoing team of Ribbons for their leadership and service during this unprecedented and extraordinary year, in which they have found innovative and inventive ways to connect with the wider school community. He also expressed his gratitude to the Head Girl team, Charlotte, Milan, Misan and Sofia, for their support as he has adapted to life at Woldingham under such unusual circumstances.
Dr Whitehead then talked about an era of new beginnings, excitement and rejuvenation as Woldingham welcomes the incoming Ribbons. He warmly congratulated the new Ribbons and thanked everyone who put themselves forward for selection, describing how difficult it had been to select the team from such a talented group of students in the Lower Sixth, and reminding everyone that Woldingham’s culture of leadership offers many other opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the community.
After the incoming Ribbons had been welcomed to the stage to be presented with their blue ribbon sash, our next Head Girl, Desiree, made a short speech conveying the team’s determination to hit the ground running in September, and its commitment to serving the school and wider community using innovative change. She urged everyone to look out for the Ribbons’ new initiatives and to confidently get involved.
