16 June 2021
Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport
Our annual Sports Dinner on Tuesday 8 June was held for Upper Sixth students only this year, due to COVID regulations. Despite not having the whole sporting community, including parents, with us it was still a wonderful evening, celebrating all that our Upper Sixth students have contributed to school sport over their time at Woldingham.
We were delighted to share the evening with our guest speaker, physiotherapist and Woldingham alumna Charlotte Davies. Charlotte was a sport scholar at Woldingham and won the Sacred Heart Cup for outstanding contribution to school sport at our inaugural Sports Dinner in 2016.
After presenting the awards, Charlotte spoke about her experiences since leaving Woldingham and her journey to becoming a physio with a number of top sports teams and working in the NHS. Charlotte’s main message was about not being scared to try new things and always being true to yourself.
Our Upper Sixth award winners were:
Sophie Foster - The Sacred Heart Cup for outstanding contribution to school sport
Lara Anderson and Eliza Warfield - Highly commended for excellent contribution to school sport
Emily Cons - The Castle Cup for unwavering commitment and enthusiasm
Charlotte Baxter - Sports Personality of the Year for dedication, sportsmanship and being an outstanding role model for sport
