Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport
There were plenty of wins for Woldingham teams on Saturday 25 September in our annual fixtures with Lingfield College for hockey and Thomas’s Clapham for netball.
The U15 hockey team played superbly, making the most of their short corner practise earlier in the week to secure a very healthy 5-1 win. Next up at home was the Senior 2nd XI in their first match of the season. The newly-formed team of students from Years 11 to Upper Sixth worked well and gelled quickly, taking an early lead in the first half and finishing 2-0.
The away games at Lingfield were just as successful, with the 1st XI (pictured) dominating their game to finish 4-1, while the U14s started their season’s campaign with a 2-0 win and some excellent saves from goalkeeper Matilda in the second half.
In the day’s netball matches against Thomas’s Clapham, the U13s showed versatility and adaptability to secure two wins and, though narrowly beaten, our Year 7s played some good netball in their first fixture for Woldingham.
