This week, to coincide with COP26, we invited non-members to Current Affairs Club to take part in a special Model United Nations session, which I ran. Each participant was given a country to represent and discussed their country’s plan to reduce emissions. As well as trying to answer some of COP26’s key questions, such as securing net zero, we discussed various climate change initiatives we think different countries should be taking. We also talked about proceedings at COP26 to date.
It was a really great session, which further developed our knowledge of climate change and countries’ approaches to mitigating its effects. Perhaps this may lead to a full Model UN at Woldingham in the future?
