Miss Kimberley Chan has been appointed Woldingham’s new Head of Boarding from September 2022, having joined the school as Housemistress of Year 10 in 2021. She is taking on the role from Miss Taryn Bennett who is to become Woldingham’s new Assistant Head of Safeguarding from January 2023. Miss Chan will also teach music.
‘I am delighted to become Head of Boarding at Woldingham. I look forward to continuing with building upon all that has already been achieved under Taryn Bennett in providing an engaging, supportive and nurturing environment for our boarders. I know it will be a welcome and exciting challenge, working closely with the boarding team, to enable our boarders across the school to have the most rewarding, fun and wholesome experience in their home away from home.’
Woldingham is an increasingly popular school. A record 630 students are enrolled from September 2022 with new weekly boarding arrangements gaining in popularity, along with flexi-boarding where students can board up to two nights a week.
Dr James Whitehead, Woldingham’s Head added: ‘Boarding is fantastic at Woldingham and I am sure that Kimberley’s ideas, kindness and enthusiasm will make it even better with plans for more activities at weekends and ensuring our Sacred Heart community values are fully experienced by all our boarders at Woldingham.’
