Sport scholar Alex plans to join top US university hockey programme next year

29 September 2022

Upper Sixth sport scholar Alex plans to head stateside next year after her A Levels having been offered a place on the hockey programme at Dartmouth, an Ivy League university in New Hampshire. This is a fantastic achievement for hockey specialist Alex, who has represented the school throughout her time at Woldingham, as well as playing for Sevenoaks Hockey.  We look forward to watching Alex’s hockey playing develop over the coming years. She certainly has a bright future on and off the hockey pitch.

Mrs Jodie Luff, Head of Netball

The netball season is now well underway and our students are all training hard and getting match ready.

Our U12s started strongly in their first matches last Saturday. The coaches have already been impressed with some of the skills displayed on court and their knowledge of the game and we are excited to see our youngest students develop and progress.

On Monday, Royal Russell brought four U13 teams to Woldingham. It was fantastic to see so many students playing netball. We were able to test out lots of different playing combinations throughout the afternoon and finished with four wins - a great achievement.

The U16s played Reigate in their first league game. Woldingham was strong from the start, getting a good lead from the first quarter. The excellent play continued, resulting in a first league win 30-18.

Miss Jessica Fullalove, Head of Swimming

The great start to the season has continued, with our Year 7 swim squad winning the Lower Junior District Gala on Wednesday.

The previous Saturday, 12 students from Years 7 to Upper Sixth competed against other Surrey Schools at the ESSA relays in Guildford. Everyone swam really well. Our best result of the day came from our Intermediate swimmers, Lara, Nara, Alice and Lily, who came 5th in the medley relay.
