On Thursday 3 November the Art Department welcomed pupils in Years 3 to 5 from St John’s C of E Primary School, Caterham to our studios for a workshop on capturing the beautiful Woldingham landscape. First, we looked at the etchings and woodcuts of Vincent van Gogh and David Hockney’s paintings before the pupils explored expressive mark making and colour.
Our Lower Sixth A Level art students and Art Ribbon Millie helped make this session for pupils who do not usually have art factored into their weekly lessons a great success. It was lovely to give back and create new experiences for our young visitors. Some of the resulting pieces are shown in the gallery below.
