GCSE decision-making process begins with options evening for Year 9 parents and students

30 November 2022

Ms Nicole Weatherston, Deputy Head Academic

It was lovely to welcome parents of our Year 9 students to Woldingham on Monday 28 November for our GCSE options evening.

The evening started with the opportunity for parents to meet their daughter’s tutor and other members of staff. They and their daughters then listened to presentations in the auditorium explaining Woldingham’s GCSE options programme, before visiting specific subject areas, where Heads of Department were on hand to talk about their particular GCSE course and answer questions.

Year 9 students are at the start of this decision-making journey and key staff will continue to advise and support them with their subject choices over the coming months. Woldingham firmly believes in the importance of a broad and balanced curriculum and, with 20 subjects on offer, our students are spoilt for choice. Academic stretch continues in Years 10 and 11, with the opportunity to study for GCSEs in further maths, Latin, Ancient Greek and an exciting new addition, astronomy.
