Woldingham students and parents have once again responded very generously to support the work of The Hygiene Bank, a charity that tackles hygiene poverty within local communities.
On Wednesday 30 November, Lorraine, a volunteer from a local branch of the charity, was delighted to collect more than 110 bags of toiletries from Miss Charlotte Owen, Head of Marden. None of the donations will travel far. The first 70 will go to local community carers to give to elderly people they look after at home. From the remainder, bags suitable for teenagers will be distributed via the East Surrey YMCA in Redhill and others will go to Their Voice in Caterham, which works with survivors of modern slavery.
Miss Owen said of the appeal, “It is a privilege to make a difference to people’s lives this Christmas.”
