Last week’s production of Sister Act The Musical was amazing: incredible singing, acting, choreography and sharp comic timing combined with superb live music to turn two freezing January evenings into fabulously joyful ones.
An audience of students and staff enjoyed a school performance on Thursday 19 January, before family, friends – and yet more students and staff – packed the auditorium the following evening for a show that was, to quote the lead character Deloris (a tour de force by Lase), simply “Fabulous, Baby”. The cast of more than 30 students, many playing more than one role, was superb. They were brilliantly supported by the fantastic crew and backstage team, entertaining cameos from Mr O’Gorman and Fr Gerry, and accompanied by a wonderful band led by Woldingham’s Director of Music – and the show’s musical director – Mr Hargreaves. And, of course, we are indebted to Sister Act The Musical’s director and choreographer Miss Williams (Woldingham’s Director of Drama) for masterminding this masterpiece. Bravo!
