Weekend fun on tap for boarders

26 January 2023

One of the favourite things about being a boarder at Woldingham is the range of fantastic trips at the weekends - and all the fun activities at school too.

In recent months boarders have played mini golf at Westfield, visited Leeds Castle for the Christmas lights, went ice skating, shopped at the ever-popular Bluewater, enjoyed climbing at Clip 'n Climb and travelled to Hampshire for the Winchester Science Museum. The older boarders loved their senior trip to nearby Tulley’s farm for Shocktoberfest. We loved seeing their ‘shocking’ costumes and makeup.

There’s always great fun on site at school at weekends too. Last week boarders got ready for Chinese New Year making red lanterns. In December, there was a frenzy of Christmas craft making in Saturday Active. Baking is always popular (both the making and the eating) as are the simple pleasures of walking in our wonderful 700 acres, particularly in the snow.

Ms Kuster, Marden Housemistress said: ‘We are always busy in boarding at the weekends. The girls love our trips and activities at school. I can also guarantee that simple treats such as noodles and hot chocolate on Friday evenings will be remembered by the girls long after they leave Woldingham. We have many interesting discussions and laughter on our Friday evening wind down from school.’
