Always a much-anticipated event in the Woldingham calendar, this year’s Harry Potter party for Mardeners was a great success.
Once put into their Hogwarts Houses by the sorting hat, 16 students took part in an inter-House competition of games and activities to see who would become the evening’s champions. After a very closely fought contest, Hufflepuff emerged triumphant and were presented with their prizes and the Triwizard Cup. Many thanks to our catering department for the wonderful selection of Harry Potter themed party food, which included Hagrid’s rock cakes, herbology batons, Hufflepuff’s famous popcorn and, of course, butterbeer.

The Harry Potter Party was a super fun event as Ms Owens had organised lots of great activities. After being sorted into either Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Ravenclaw – our teams for the party - the games began…
These were broomstick racing, an egg hunt and a dragon hunt, the Triwizard Cup and the BIG QUIZ! Hufflepuff won the entire competition, however, Gryffindor – my House - came a close second.
The whole thing was great fun, and everyone had a blast testing their Harry Potter knowledge. Thank you to Ms Owens for organising it – I’m so glad I went.
