Sixth Formers strengthen Sacred Heart ties with Roehampton visit

8 March 2023

Fr Gerry Devlin, Chaplain

On Tuesday 28 February, Mr Ross, 12 Sixth Form students and I spent a very pleasant morning with the Sacred Heart Sisters now living in retirement in Duchesne House, Roehampton. Over tea, the Sisters shared many happy stories of their time working at Woldingham School.  We celebrated Mass together and we assured the Sisters we will remember them in our prayers during this season of Lent.

After lunch, our students worked with pupils at the nearby Sacred Heart Primary School, including the early years group.  It was an enjoyable afternoon and our students assisted the pupils with painting, writing, outdoor games and helped the younger year groups learn to work with one another.

A big thank you to all the students for taking time out to visit the Sisters and the primary school. It was a great day, which helped strengthen our close ties within the family of the Sacred Heart.  Thanks in particular to Isabella, our Sacred Heart Ribbon, for organising everyone to take part in this special day.
