Wine and flowers were the focus of two very enjoyable events for parents and other members of the Woldingham community last week.
On Wednesday 15 March, members of staff joined parents for a fun and informative evening at our “Posh vs Plonk” wine tasting event in the Stephens Room.
To make unbiased judgements, everyone ‘blind’ tasted a range of white, rosé and red wines, half at lower prices and half at the higher end of the scale. As we enjoyed tasting the wines, our guest expert explained what makes some wines more expensive than others and shared advice on what to look for when selecting wine.
We ended the evening more knowledgeable about how to look beyond just the price for what makes a really great wine.
On the afternoon of Friday 17 March, we had the pleasure of welcoming grandparents and parents to a relaxing, creative and very sociable Mother’s Day Spring Floral Workshop.
Former member of staff Judy Brown led the session, guiding us on how to prepare and arrange sumptuous flame coloured ‘Summertime’ roses and spring foliage to create a stunning floral gift bag.
Delighted by our floral results, this was the perfect start to the weekend.
