Around 50 students gave a wonderful showcase of a wide range of dance forms at Get Up & Dance on Wednesday 10 May. Soloists, duets, trios and groups large and small entertained an appreciative audience with ballet, contemporary, commercial, hip-hop, street, jazz, tap, Irish dancing and more. A number of the routines were choreographed by the students themselves. The audience was also introduced to the newest members of Woldingham’s growing dance community – the staff dance group, whose filmed routine was very warmly received.
It was a treat to see the results of the – undoubtedly much enjoyed – hard work students have put in this year at Woldingham’s extra-curricular clubs – Dance With Attitude, Ballet and Choreography Club – as well as at classes taken outside of school. Dance is very much alive and well at Woldingham.
