Bilingual students enjoy giving guided tour of Woldingham to French guests

Mme Christelle Maillot, Head of French

Manon and Leticia (Year 10) and Audrey and Fleur (Lower Sixth), who are bilingual in French and English, did a wonderful job – along with Head Girl Alison - of giving a guided tour of Woldingham to 50 students aged 12-15 and staff from College St Clement, France on Wednesday 17 May. It was a pleasure to welcome them to Woldingham. We have a long-standing relationship with the school, which is in my own village near Vittel in northeast France, having organised Year 9 exchanges in the past.

Our guests were well-prepared for their tour, as I welcomed them earlier with a presentation about Woldingham, followed by a fun Kahoot quiz to test their knowledge!

After a picnic in the grounds, where they were joined by other Woldingham students, our visitors had a great afternoon on our Adventure Centre’s high ropes and zip wires with Mr Brinkmann, and in an art workshop run by Miss Lancaster and Miss Pliaukstaite. Thank you to everyone who helped give our visiting students a different school experience from their own, which I know they very much enjoyed.
