Year 9 students reflect on using unique gifts and talents to make a positive difference

The theme of Year 9’s Day of Reflection at Wintershall on Tuesday 7 November was: “Do not fear, I have called you by name” (Isaiah 43:1). We began the day by looking at the meaning of our own personal name and the importance of the name given to us by our parents. With Personal Growth being this year’s Sacred Heart Goal, students also explored how they have grown as individuals since joining Woldingham.

Year 9 took part in four workshops, which focused on meditation, exploring scripture through drama, leadership, and personal development through creative journaling. Students also had the opportunity to write in their personal growth journals about their experiences throughout the day and their hopes and expectations for the future.

The day concluded with the celebration of Mass. We all returned to school with a renewed sense of energy as well as an appreciation of how we are called by name and how, through our own unique gifts and talents, we can all make a positive difference in our school community and beyond, if not today then tomorrow.
